Payments are really easy with online and mobile banking. If you’re already an HSBC customer and haven’t done so already, register for HSBC online banking (previously ‘Personal Internet Banking’) in your new country, then download the HSBC Mobile Banking app. You'll need your bank account or credit card number and PIN (phone banking or ATM). In some countries, you may need your Personal Banking Number (PBN) and access code.
Once registered, you can then request a Security Device (or Mobile Security Key). Because we’re switching from hard tokens to digital security keys in many countries/regions, we recommend you activate this feature on your mobile device through the HSBC Mobile Banking app to access all our banking services online.
With online and mobile banking, you can now set up future payments or transfers.
- In ‘Pay or transfer’, add the new payee in your ‘My payees’ list.
- Select the account you’ll be paying from.
- Select your payee, enter the amount, and in ‘Date’, select either ‘Later’ to make a one-time, future-dated payment, or ‘Recurring’. For a recurring payment, select the frequency and number of payments.
- Select ‘Continue’, then verify and confirm your payment details.
You can pay a bill to an existing payee via ‘Pay or transfer’ or through ‘Move money’ then select ‘My payees'. We’ll also ask if you’d like to add a new payee when you’re making a payment so the details are saved for next time.
This process may vary slightly, so take a look at the HSBC website in your country/region if you need more help with the steps.
